We book by phone only so that we can best address the needs of your pet!

Before scheduling, we will ask you some questions about your pet to help us create a more custom experience. These will include: breed, age, prior grooming experience, known health conditions and temperament. At intake, we will create a card with all pertinent info including an emergency contact number.

We must be able to reach you while the dog is in our care!

Our process is broken into several steps. When they first come in they are given 20-30 minutes to sniff around and use the potty. Next is bathing, drying and brushing and another break. Last is the haircut. The breaks are important because asking a dog to stand still thru the entire process is like trying to hold a yoga pose for hours!

We try to complete the groom in 2-3 hours. There are many factors that can affect the total time. A Standard Poodle or Great Pyrenees will take longer than a Chihuahua or Shitzu. Even if your dog is perfectly well-behaved, we may have to pause their clip to assist another groomer whose dog is having a difficult time. Remember that our goal is to give each dog the most pleasant experience it can have!

If you realize that you have a schedule conflict on the day of your appointment, please call in advance to reschedule or arrange alternate transportation for your pet. If you are traveling from outside of Santa Fe and need to wait in town, please advise us when you come in so we can do our best to expidite!

IT IS CRITICAL THAT YOU DO NOT STOP IN TO SEE IF YOUR PET IS READY!!!!!

Doing so can result in injury to your pet and due to their excitement possibly prevent us from finishing the groom! We will call you 15 minutes before your pet is ready. You are welcome to call and check on the progress.

PUPPIES!

We want your dog to enjoy the grooming process and look forward to it for a lifetime. In order to create a lasting relationship with your pup we offer some suggestions.

• Be sure that your pup has had their first set of shots and at least one booster. Please wait at least 2 weeks after the second booster before bringing your pup in.

• We encourage you to bring your pup in for a “playdate” prior to their first appointment. There is no charge for this, and it gives your pup the chance to get familiar with the shop and the staff so they will be more comfortable as they get familiar with the grooming process.

• The first appointment typically includes a bath, blow dry with a quiet dryer, nails, and sanitary and eye trim. They are introduced to standing on the table and the sound and vibration of the clippers. Most puppies will get a full clip at the second visit.
